It’s that wonderful time of the year again when everyone gets in the mood for some gift giving and merry-making.

In the Philippines, Christmas has always been a highly anticipated season—but more so this year, as improving health and economic conditions allow Filipinos to fully enjoy the holiday revelries, reunions and celebrations.

Today you’ll see roads beautifully lit with bright lights, while colorful Christmas ornaments and amazing displays adorn malls, offices, homes, even parks. Practically everywhere you look, there will always be an establishment that’s all decked out for the holidays.

Christmas spirit

One establishment that continues to keep the spirit of Christmas alive is the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall in Cainta, Rizal. Knowing all too well how special the holiday is for many Filipinos, Sta. Lucia East has long taken to heart its commitment of providing festive Christmas spectacles,  and beautiful performances that could readily add joy to the season.

And this year proves to be no different as Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall stages a special Christmas Mall Show—a classic Christmas tunes dance presentation, much to the delight of its mallgoers.

The Christmas Mall Show has its first run last Dec. 3, during which spectators were treated to an eye-catching stage which, apart from the usual holiday elements such as Christmas trees, wreaths and lanterns, also featured underwater designs and decor. This spectacular show—which features a charming cast donning winter outfits, royalty attires and Christmas ensembles—opens with the 1957 hit Jingle Bell Rock and is perfectly concluded with the inescapable modern classic “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey.

More holiday performances

This same stage is also being used for another performance—a musical drama called “Part of The World—Treasures Untold”.

“Part of The World—Treasures Untold” was inspired by Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Here the audience will get to see Ariel come to life along with beloved characters like Prince Eric and Sebastian while the villainous Ursula will make the audience root for the redhead siren even more. The show runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of December at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.—plus, there’ll be a Special Screening on December 24, 25 and 30.

To further entertain its shoppers, the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall also features a string quartet with live soprano to serenade them with classic Christmas carols. Also adding merriment to the festivities are the set of lighted drummer boys parading around the mall, greeting shoppers and taking photos with them.

Christmas is indeed a wonderful time to create new memorable, special moments with families, friends and colleagues. After all, nothing beats the happiness and joy that this season brings, especially when you celebrate it with your loved ones and in a place like the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall—a place that preserves tradition, brings you non-stop entertainment and joy, and lets you experience the best of the holidays while you shop.
