Orchard, Alta Vista teams conquer Sta. Lucia Tour Cebu leg

Ralph Chong and Aldric Yao of Orchard Golf and Country Club reigned supreme in the second leg of the 19th Sta. Lucia Golf Tour, held at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Cebu from Sept. 3 to 5.
The pair outplayed 43 other teams, finishing with 63 points in the four-ball round and 59 in the scramble round for a total of 122.
Class A to C winners
In other categories, Marco and Martin Mendoza of Alta Vista captured the Class A title with a total net score of 127, closely followed by clubmates Jong Bu Woo and Tae Yun Kong with 128.

Raising the banner for Pinewoods Golf Club were Terrance Park and Leo Sab-It, who topped Class B with 131 points, while teammates Ryan and Crizel Tablac settled for runner-up at 132.
Alta Vista was also well represented in Class C, as Rolando Acas and Noah Caoile claimed the championship with 123 points, followed by Kenneth Carredo and Kendrick Soledad with 128.
Seniors and super seniors
Orchard Golf also put on a strong showing, with Charles Kochet-Chua and Lorenzo Samson clinching the Seniors Division at 123 points. Beverly Place Golf’s Oscar Endoña and Rene Lanuza followed in second with 131.
Alta Vista continued its dominance in the Super Seniors Division as Masahisa Kawakami and Nestor Mendoza tallied 136 points, just ahead of South Pacific Golf’s William Carmichale and Randall Hopper, who finished with 137.
Sponsors, raffle, and next leg

Even the Sponsors category had its own drama. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s Ramon Morada IV and Philip John Sykimte posted 131 points to take the win, with Philippine Airlines’ Chun Wu Shi and Dave Ong close behind at 136.
The three-day tournament opened with a practice round and wrapped up with an awarding ceremony led by Sta. Lucia Land, Inc. Chairman Vicente Santos.

Adding to the excitement were raffle prizes, including a golf launch monitor from Break 100, P100,000 in bet coupons donated by PAGCOR, and overnight stays at Seda Ayala Cebu and Seda Central Bloc.
The Sta. Lucia Golf Tour is the group’s flagship annual tournament, gathering teams from 11 Sta. Lucia–operated clubs. The third leg will tee off from Oct. 14 to 16 at Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club and Orchard Golf in Cavite.

This year’s tour is co-presented by Davies Paints, K&G, Okada Manila, SotoGrande Hotels, TW Steel, VMJ Evergreen Golf Maintenance and Construction, Ion Electrolyte Drink, with Philippine Airlines as the official airline partner.
