Ralph Chong and Aldric Yao of Orchard Golf and Country Club reigned supreme in the second leg of the 19th Sta. Lucia Golf Tour, held at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Cebu from Sept. 3 to 5.

The pair outplayed 43 other teams, finishing with 63 points in the four-ball round and 59 in the scramble round for a total of 122.

Class A to C winners

In other categories, Marco and Martin Mendoza of Alta Vista captured the Class A title with a total net score of 127, closely followed by clubmates Jong Bu Woo and Tae Yun Kong with 128.

The elegant Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Pardo Cebu served as the main venue for the second leg of the tournament.

Raising the banner for Pinewoods Golf Club were Terrance Park and Leo Sab-It, who topped Class B with 131 points, while teammates Ryan and Crizel Tablac settled for runner-up at 132.

Alta Vista was also well represented in Class C, as Rolando Acas and Noah Caoile claimed the championship with 123 points, followed by Kenneth Carredo and Kendrick Soledad with 128.

Seniors and super seniors

Orchard Golf also put on a strong showing, with Charles Kochet-Chua and Lorenzo Samson clinching the Seniors Division at 123 points. Beverly Place Golf’s Oscar Endoña and Rene Lanuza followed in second with 131.

Alta Vista continued its dominance in the Super Seniors Division as Masahisa Kawakami and Nestor Mendoza tallied 136 points, just ahead of South Pacific Golf’s William Carmichale and Randall Hopper, who finished with 137.

Sponsors, raffle, and next leg
Champions from each category were all smiles as they received their awards from Sta. Lucia Chairman Mr. Vicente Santos and Vice President of Purchasing Mr. Vince Santos.

Even the Sponsors category had its own drama. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s Ramon Morada IV and Philip John Sykimte posted 131 points to take the win, with Philippine Airlines’ Chun Wu Shi and Dave Ong close behind at 136.

The three-day tournament opened with a practice round and wrapped up with an awarding ceremony led by Sta. Lucia Land, Inc. Chairman Vicente Santos.

The award ceremony was led by Sta. Lucia Chairman Mr. Vicente Santos (CENTER) who was accompanied by the general managers from each Sta. Lucia operated golf club.

Adding to the excitement were raffle prizes, including a golf launch monitor from Break 100, P100,000 in bet coupons donated by PAGCOR, and overnight stays at Seda Ayala Cebu and Seda Central Bloc.

The Sta. Lucia Golf Tour is the group’s flagship annual tournament, gathering teams from 11 Sta. Lucia–operated clubs. The third leg will tee off from Oct. 14 to 16 at Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club and Orchard Golf in Cavite.

The stunning Championship Trophies were presented to the pair of Mr. Ralph Chongand Aldric Yao of the Orchard Golf and Country Club team.
