A piece of eden in Las Colinas

Without a doubt, owning a vacation home is on everybody’s wish list. We all dream of having that special place of refuge we can escape to after a long, exhausting week at work.
Sta. Lucia Land Inc. (SLLI) brings Davaoeños closer to that dream of having the ideal vacation home with Las Colinas Verdes in Eden, Davao. Located just off the Bayabas-Eden Road in Toril, Davao City, the upcoming community is perfect for those who want to have a second home just outside the city.
Las Colinas’ major highlight is its location. Brgy. Eden in Toril is known among the locals as the “Tagaytay of Davao” with its scenic mountain views, cooler climate and fresh air. Future residents are assured of a refreshing weather throughout the year.
SLLI’s chief executive officer and executive vice president Liezel Tuason-Magpoc told Inquirer Property that this is the company’s first residential development in Davao with this elevation—771 meters above sea level, to be exact.
Other SLLI developments in Davao are Alta Monte Davao, Ciudad Verde, Davao Riverfront, Las Palmas Verdes, Rancho Palos Verdes, Sun City Golf, South Pacific, Valle Verde, South Grove, Ponte Verde, Windsor Residences and Altea at Ciudades.
“It’s only here in Eden that you’ll get this kind of weather and yet it’s still within Davao City. So for those who want to have a second home, this is the perfect area to have it,” Tuason-Magpoc explained.
The prime development takes its residents closest to nature. It is just a stone’s throw away from Eden Nature Park, a mountain resort 3,000 feet above sea level. The view from Las Colinas isn’t so bad either. You have an unobstructed panorama of Davao Gulf during the day and a view of Davao City’s twinkling lights at night.
To give its investors, partners, and future Las Colinas homeowners a feel of how it will be like to reside in Las Colinas, SLLI organized a fun night of camping right at the area where Las Colinas is set to be built. Campers pitched their own tents and were treated to free-flowing food and drinks. Homegrown band, Never Heard, provided acoustic music.
“The activity is a glimpse for buyers of their possible second home or vacation home in Davao City. It is a special sales activity that may be repeated depending on the reception of the interested buyers. There are other upcoming family activities like kite-flying, horseback riding, weekend market and music festival—all of which are sales activities like an open house,” Tuason-Magpoc said.
Tuason-Magpoc sees Las Colinas as ideal for those who want to have their vacation homes where they can do their hobbies. Buyers can choose from estate-sized lots ranging from 500 sqm to 1,200 sqm. The weather at Las Colinas is excellent especially for growing plants or those who want to engage in leisure farming.
“They can do leisurely strolls here. They don’t have to go to any park anymore because within their subdivision there’s a lake, there’s a jogging path,” she further explained.
SLLI expects Las Colinas to be completed by 2022. The 97-ha residential development will have a 2.7-ha man-made lake as one of its special features.
There will also be a clubhouse and sports facilities such as a pool and a basketball court. Future residents can expect round-the-clock security, a wide, paved concrete road network and other carefully thought-out details to assure a peaceful, and private day-to-day life.
Since Las Colinas is a 45-minute drive from the city, SLLI will make sure to provide its residents with all the conveniences of everyday living. Commercial establishments including lifestyle malls, condotels and a hotel are expected to rise in Las Colinas in the future.
